The Communications Associate is the sole communications staff person for the Minneapolis Youth Coordinating Board and is responsible for communications, IT and data base management.  The Communications Associate supports all YCB staff in their communications needs but works under the direction of the Executive Director.  This is a full-time position.

 

Responsibilities include managing web communications and social networking, updating and maintaining data bases, production and dissemination of a monthly newsletter and other promotional materials through GovDelivery.com and providing Communications support to staff.

 

Qualified candidates for the position of Communications Associate will have strong project management capabilities and familiarity with various electronic platforms. They will also be well organized and flexible with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with all levels of management and staff, elected officials, members of the public, and youth from diverse backgrounds as well as outside partners and vendors.

 

Gardener for Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board

Performs lead work in the design and management of landscape plants.  Maintains horticultural specimens including trees, shrubs, perennial plants, annual plant displays, and hardscapes in public parks, formal garden areas, and natural areas.  Works with horticultural, planning and other MPRB staff to design and redesign garden areas each year to provide safe, innovative and aesthetically pleasing outdoor environment for patrons.

Arborist for Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board

The MPRB is seeking a dedicated Arborist to perform highly skilled and difficult manual work in the care and maintenance of trees in parks, along boulevards and parkways, and on other city properties throughout the City of Minneapolis.  The Arborist promotes the proper growth of trees and maintains the overall health of the urban forest.

Mediation Program Manager (Job ID: 27808)

This position is the first of its type at MDHR and will develop, improve, expand, implement, and administer MDHR’s statewide mediation program. The person in this position will design program parameters from the ground up, communicate those parameters to stakeholders, and implement those parameters to successfully administer the mediation program, This position will also develop internal program standards and criteria, including what types of cases should be mediated, and the qualifications criteria for volunteer mediators. The position will recruit, manage, and train volunteer mediators. This position will solicit feedback from stakeholders on the mediation program and volunteer mediators’ performance. The incumbent will manage the pipeline for mediation and ensures the Department integrates mediation into the overall Enforcement work of MDHR. The person will also mediate a select number of cases.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

To be considered minimally qualified, you must meet the following criteria:

Licensed to practice law in the State of Minnesota and be in good standing.

Must be a qualified neutral under the Minnesota General Rules of Practice Rule 114 or become one within six months of starting the position.

Working knowledge of the Minnesota Human Rights Act.

Possess a theoretical and practical understanding of the dynamics alternative dispute resolution and the elements which influence the behavior and attitudes of the parties and their constituents, using this knowledge to shape and direct the mediation program.

Two years’ experience in utilizing Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).

Excellent human relations skills; be able to clearly and effectively communicate with clients both orally and in writing; perform necessary research and calculations; and maintain control over the environment and process during mediation and trainings.

Occasional weekend and evening hours and travel are essential to the position.

Excellent time management skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Experience managing a mediation or similar ADR program is preferred.

Project management experience is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  This person will be part of the Client Services team.  Responsibilities include conducting initial client intakes (determining eligibility, interviewing potential client to collect facts in the case, writing a summary of the interview, and entering information into a case management database); answering the main switchboard and directing callers to staff and making referrals; processing office files by updating information in a database; creating and sending form letters; greeting and assisting visitors to the office; interpreting (assuming multi language fluency); and performing other tasks as needed, such as library filing.

New Job Opening at Venture Academy

The Youth Program Manager is responsible for the overall administration of a school-based Out-of-School Time program serving approximately 30-50 youth in 6th-12th grade each day (around 100 each week) at Venture Academy. Directly supervises a staff, volunteers and interns. Works closely with the school administration and other community-based support programs outside of the school. The Program Manager coordinates and oversees program operations to ensure individual academic and emotional growth and support developmental assets of youth through research-based programming, using a holistic approach that is trauma-informed and strengths-based.
