Minnesota is accelerating the clean energy transition in homes through several rebate programs targeted for rollout in Spring 2025. 40% of the overall benefits are intended to flow to low and moderate income communities. Rebates of up to $14,000 per household are available for Heat Pump Technology, Electric stove, cooktop, range/oven, electric panel upgrades and wiring, weatherization. Rebates can cover 100% of project costs for low income households.
Get ready for the rebates by scheduling and Energy Audit today!
Energy Audits
The first step in securing energy and climate resiliency grants, rebates and loans is to complete an Energy Audit. If you receive Energy Assistance, contact Sustainable Resources Center for more information. 612-870-4255.
Otherwise contact MN Center for Energy and Environment to schedule your audit. Auditors will install energy-saving materials such as LED Lightbulbs, door and attic hatch weather-stripping, programmable or smart thermostat, and high-efficiency water fixtures on site. If your home was built before 2000, they will also perform a blower test and insulation inspection. This audit is at no cost for most North Minneapolis residents.
Energy Advisors
After your energy audit, CEE’s Advisor service can help you take the next steps on projects recommended in your audit. They will also connect you to financing, rebates and high-quality contractors. EnergyAdvisor@MNCEE.org, 612-244-2484.
Attic Seal and Insulation Rebate
The City of Minneapolis offers a matching rebate program to help residents insulate and air seal their homes. The rebate is available to 1-4 unit properties, either owner occupied or absentee owned. Contact CEE at 612-335-5856
