UROC Public Engagement Workshop: Relevance & Reach - Strengthening the Fabric of Academic-Community Networks in North Minneapolis

Faculty and university staff are invited to connect with residents, community advocates, and organizational leaders committed to strengthening partnerships between the university and North Minneapolis neighborhoods. This informal gathering offers a space for meaningful dialogue around community-identified priorities and opportunities for academic collaboration. The event will highlight ongoing efforts to establish a Women’s & Community Sports Authority in North Minneapolis, an equity-centered initiative aimed at positioning Minnesota as a national hub for women’s sports and inclusive economic development. Attendees will hear from a panel of initiative leaders representing the MN Vixen flag football team, Northside Bulldogs, Inner City Tennis, V3 Sports, Heritage Youth Sports Foundation, and OneMN, who will share nsights on their work and vision for community impact. Refreshments and light snacks provided. This event is free and open to the public.
